Rooted Action, Shared Miles & Patience In Motion
Hey friends!
🎉I just joined the Sprints crew as an affiliate! Be sure to see the offer in the P.P.S.
Here’s a quick look at what’s on my radar this week in Pennsylvania’s parks and trails, plus one-person business insights to help power your next move.
🌳 Outdoors Spotlight
👉 Leave No Trace Spotlight: Hickory Run SP (Jun 12-14)
As part of Leave No Trace's national initiative to highlight outdoor areas that benefit from increased community engagement, Hickory Run State Park will host a weekend of free events focused on sustainable recreation, outdoor ethics, and community stewardship. Activities include educational programs, outreach initiatives, and volunteer opportunities.
⚡ Trail & Ultra Buzz
👉 WIU Crewing & Pacing for Ultrarunning Event (Jun 14)
Lace up for a Women in Ultrarunning x OPAC crossover event at The Cedars House in the Wissahickon. Enjoy a 45-minute trail run or walk, followed by a group discussion on crewing and pacing for ultrarunning, plus HOKA demos, raffle prizes, and community vibes.
👉 Run for the Ages 10k Trail Chase (Jun 15)
Held at Nolde Forest in Reading, this trail 10k is the only age-graded trail race on the East Coast. The course is scenic and very runnable, winding through forested trails with a mix of wide gravel paths and mild technical sections. Whether you're in it to race or just run a beautiful course, this one stands out for its inclusive, community-driven spirit.
💡 Smart Move for Your Week
Focus on building relationships. Business is all about people, and long-term success comes from creating genuine connections. Take the time to get to know your audience, your partners, and your collaborators. Nurturing relationships through trust, communication, and mutual respect will lead to opportunities and growth that go beyond short-term gains.
💭 Parting Thought
Everything happens in its own time. Patience doesn’t mean doing nothing; it means trusting the process and allowing things to unfold naturally. Trust that what’s meant for you will come at the right time ― don’t force it, just keep moving forward.
That’s all for this one.
Make this week count ― get outdoors, chase your goals, and stay focused. If you’ve got something great to share, I’d love to hear from you!
Onward and upward,
Laura
